From 11th to 15th March, Furniture From Spain is scouting the market on a trade mission with 6 Spanish furnishing brands.

Since its economic opening and 20 years of sustained growth, China has turned itself into a main producer and exporter of furnishing products. On the other hand, the economic expansion and the improvement of the standards of living, as well as the increasing urbanization process and the housing estate development, has led to a higher demand and consumption of furniture and home décor products. From 11th to 15th March, Furniture From Spain is scouting the market on a trade mission with 6 Spanish furnishing brands.

In the framework of its Promotion Plan for 2013, ANIEME – Furniture From Spain, in collaboration with ICEX, The Spanish Foreign trade Institute, has organized a trade mission that is visiting Shanghai and Beijing with a group of 6 Spain’s furniture companies: Curvasa, Valenti, Point, Guadarte, Vondom and Andreu World.

Main objective of this trade mission is to establish business contacts between the Spanish firms and local buyers and specifiers and therefore promote the presence of the Spanish high-end furnishing offer in the Chinese market.

Although Chinese furniture manufacturers have improved their designs and production processes, the national demand of high-end and deluxe international brands is still high. The high-end segment is still covered by foreign brands from Italy, French, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States that can offer high quality and differentiated products.Purchases from Spain have doubled since 2010, totaling almost 2.5 million euros, which represents a year-on-year increase by 25%. These figures reveal that the Chinese consumers appreciate the quality of made in Spain products and that the market offer good business opportunities to Spanish furniture producers in the short and long term.
