Diesel Social Kitchen shined in the Diesel Social Café Club, the `social´ corner that welcomed a great many visitors to Ventura Lambrate during the FuoriSalone 2013. This kitchen, in addition, had got the 2013 EDIDA prize.
Scavolini starredin the Diesel Social Café Club, welcoming an enthusiastic crowd to the Fuorisalone 2013 in the area of Ventura Lambrate. The kitchen, which was created from a collaboration between Scavolini and Diesel for the Successful Living from Diesel collection, thus "dressed" the café area, the real hub of the district, thereby making it into an oasis in which to exchange pleasantries and relax on a break taken from the chaos that is the Milan design week.
Dual soul
Diesel Social Kitchen is a project with a dual soul, where the technology, know-how and experience of Scavolini combine with the taste, lifestyle and love for the "lived-in" of Diesel. It is a kitchen that tells of important volumes and natural and essential materials – aged using special vintage treatments – like wood, steel, cement and glass worked with metal. An ambiance with a “lived-in” feel, which takes an ironic mix of a vintage soul with details inspired by industry.
An inspiration and a mood that have also fitted in perfectly along the route of Ventura Lambrate, one of the city@¬#s most exciting places that stands out for its creativity, experimentation and diversity and which, this year too, has been able to catalyse a crowded international public, including architects, designers and fashion addicts.
Diesel Social Kitchen is the result of the blend of two Made in Italy excellences and the expression of creativity and innovation. It has found its natural setting in the Milan FuoriSalone, where it enjoyed international acknowledgement as a hub of research and experimentation.
Diesel Social Kitchen wins the 2013 EDIDA prize
Thursday, 11 April, saw the Foyer of the Manzoni Theatre of Milan host the prize-giving ceremony for the 11th edition of EDIDA (Elle Decoration International Design Awards), which proclaimed the Diesel Social Kitchen from the Successful Living from Diesel collection the deserving winner of the Kitchen category.
The prestigious award, collected jointly by Fabiana Scavolini, Marketing and Commercial Director for Scavolini, and Andrea Rosso, Creative Director of the Licences Department of Diesel, was awarded by a qualified jury numbering the 25 editions of the international Elle Decoration network with the following motivation: A kitchen in which the modernity of the design and a subtle vintage flavour live side by side, defined by large volumes and materials aged with special treatments, to create environments where retro spirit and industrial-inspired details blend together with irony.
From the partnership of Scavolini and Diesel, two authoritative interpreters of Made in Italy, we have the Diesel Social Kitchen, a kitchen with a strong character that is ultra-contemporary and rational, modular in its design but with a clear vintage soul, available in special materials, treatments and finishes. Here, wood, steel, glass and cement blend to create a pleasantly @¬#retro feel, yielding a warm, lived-in ambiance with a spirit and a story to tell.
The EDIDA prize is an important recognition borne out by an important network, as is Elle Decoration, which, as an attentive observer of design trends, has chosen the Diesel Social Kitchen as being an ambitious, structured project, the result of the synergy of a leading company, as is Scavolini, and an international brand lifestyle, as is Diesel.
