Pure design segment, at Imm Cologne, the top of international home decor style

18 septiembre, 2014

Pure design segment, that will be extended into Hall 10.1 to
make space for the big premium brands, presents market-ready trends and ideas for tomorrow in a
variety of formats.

In 2014, the Cologne fair had a record number of visitors, with around 150,000 people visiting imm cologne from 129 different countries. The high level of registrations for exhibitors (as at August) suggests that even further progress on imm‘s successful path can be expected next year. Koelnmesse is ensuring that structural measures are put in place to guarantee that the furnishing event at the start of the year develops not just quantitatively but also qualitatively. One of the indicators of this is the dynamic evolution of the Pure design segment. Premium brands, located as usual in Hall 11, are showcased over three floors, displaying all that current Interior Design has to offer.

Imm Cologne

Whether it is upholstered furniture, wardrobes, tables, “systems for living”, textiles, chairs, beds, kitchens, lighting, carpets or accessories – everything on display reflects the very top of international home decor style. Innovation, exceptional presentation and lifestyle come together at Pure.

The multi-faceted nature of the Pure format means that there is room for market-ready products, so that visitors can bring home the newest trends, as well as for experimental and conceptual design solutions. Pure opens up the market to the whole art of living. The once cult segment of imm cologne has evolved into the hot property of the international design scene, where business, designers and design fans come together.

The most renowned furnishing brand

imm cologne 2015 will once again be hosting a selection of the most renowned furnishing brands, like Vitra, Thonet, Walter Knoll, B&B Italia, Ligne Roset oder de Sede. New celebrity guests like Fendi, Trussardi and the Swedish flooring company Bolon have already secured their top-notch exhibition spots. With the return of the Italians to the Rhine and in the light of the growing affection of the leading brands of the Scandinavian design scene, currently so influential, for the design segment, imm cologne 2015 is delighted to welcome the Hülsta brand back after an absence of almost 20 years. The quality manufacturer from Stadtlohn is using the occasion of their 75th anniversary to present additions to their selections and anniversary products at their huge stand in Hall 11.1.

Pure is a “must” for everyone involved in the international design and trade scene. At the moment, there is a lifestyle market for furniture and living accessories in particular, which is finding its expression in unusual designs, refined sophistication and exceptionally high quality material and workmanship, says Creative Director Dick Spierenburg. To make room for the growing comfort and luxury segment, the traditional Pure area in Hall 11 will be extended into Hall 10.1 in January 2015.

This extension is the latest step in imm cologne’s development of Pure. The extension of Pure over the last few years had to be undertaken in a very sensitive manner in order to maintain the authentic design character of Pure, says Dick Spierenburg. This is why, we gradually developed new formats which would respond to the needs of exhibitors as well as the wishes of an industry and end consumer public. Together with Pure Village (Hall 2.2);, Pure Editions (Hall 3.2 and 2.2); and Pure Talents (Hall 1);, Pure now extends over five halls.

Pure Village tempts with Das Haus and Pure Startup
Introduced in 2010, the Pure Village format is a democratic one: The trade fair architecture is inspired by urban, compact structures and offers large and small brands alike equally high-quality presentation options for their design orientated products focused on all areas of living. The innovative mix offers the most multi-faceted of inspirations from the whole spectrum of interior design from furniture to lighting, textiles, accessories and bathroom equipment through to paint and fireplaces. In addition, the Pure presentation and events programme takes place here at The Stage forum.

Representatives of the youngest design generation also have their regular spot in Pure Village, having presented their products for many years under the banner of Young Professionals. The new name “Pure Startup” is intended to underline the independent designers’ and design studios’ conceptual affiliation to the Pure Design segment.

Das Haus – Interiors on Stage is the simulation of a residential house in the middle of the Pure Village – an experimental interior design delivering insights into the current evolution of trends as well as into the design world of the respectively nominated designer who has designed and furnished the format according to his/her own plans. After a unique interpretation by Danish designer Louise Campbell, characterised by a romantic purism, the Shanghai-based architects Neri&Hu will bring a completely new, exciting perspective to the Das Haus design format in 2015.

Young design claims its new place in Hall 1 under a new name: Pure Talents
The platform for young design pools imm cologne’s activities in promoting international young designers and found a long-term home in the roomy environs of Hall 1 in 2014. A point of attraction for many years has been the presentation of awards to the winners of the international young talent contest. The renaming of the contest as Pure Talents Contest (previously the D3 Contest) underlines its affiliation to the Pure segment.

Pure Editions – an electrifying design platform

Last but not least, Pure Editions, the Imm Cologne platform for creative brands with visionary products and product concepts, is certainly one of the most popular of the Pure formats. Pure Editions is made up of conceptual presentations in which visionary design and ambitious branding are seen as equal players in the design process. At imm cologne 2015, the traditional location in Hall 3.2 will be extended into Hall 2.2, to make room for new international exhibitors such as Menu (Denmark), Sancal (Spain) and Buzzispace (Belgium). Italian furniture specialist, Desalto, will be attending Pure Editions as a new exhibitor. The combination of open presentation format and the Featured Editions installations organised in collaboration with Stylepark generate an exciting atmosphere.

The next trade fair duo Imm Cologne / LivingKitchen will be held from 19 to 25 January 2015.
