Laminam used CERSAIE as a stage on which to present its latest technological innovation, In-Side, with a range of four new products inspired by natural stone and a new large size.
03.10.2019 In-Side technology is based on the blending of raw materials of variable grain size, the result being a material melange typical of natural stone that is able to reproduce the aesthetics in both the surface and body of the slab.
Fruit of Laminam R&D activity, In-Side allows for the creation of ceramic slabs with body and surface continuity: a real novelty among manufacturers of large-size porcelain slab surfaces that once again confirms the firm as a leader when it comes to technological innovation.
Alongside Pietra Piasentina Taupe, presented in the international shop window of Milan during the last Salone del Mobile, Laminam presented four new In-Side products in the existing 1620x3240mm size and – solely for this new series – in the new 1200x3000mm size at Cersaie: Pietra Piasentina Grigio, Pietra di Cardoso Nero y Pietra di Cardoso Grigio and Porfido Marrone /
Resistance and durability
As well as guaranteeing high-level technical performance in terms of its resistance and durability, In-Side also responds to the aesthetic demands of the furnishing and architectural world, thanks to the material homogeneity between body and surface even after the processing required to obtain the finished product (cutting, drilling, edging).
The effect is clearly visible when looking at the edge of the slab, in that the material has the same aesthetic as the surface. The quality of material continuity is particularly evident with the 20 mm thickness, available for all surfaces created with In-Side technology.
Composed of natural raw materials and produced using sustainable technologies, the Laminam slabs created with In-Side technology respond to interior and exterior design and furnishing trends, reproducing the all-round appearance of real stone and materials found in nature, with the advantage of not damaging environmental resources.
Large Laminam surfaces allow for spaces to be clad with what is a real architectonic skin, reducing grout lines to a minimum. Specifically, the 1,200×3,000 mm size in the 5 mm thickness, which is also reinforced with fibreglass at the back, can be used for the exterior cladding of building façades, internal walls and items of furniture, and it is also used for indoor and outdoor flooring, while the 1620x3240mm slabs in the 20 mm thickness are ideal for the world of furnishings, used as a kitchen worktop, a bathroom vanity top and table.

Natural raw materials, purified by water, are given a new lease of life in the form of a hard-wearing surface, which stretches up to 1620x3240mm with the appearance of genuine natural stone. - Pietra di Cardoso Nero and Pietra di Cardoso Grigio: From Italy like the natural stone that inspires it, compact and resistant: a fine material with a delicately refined aesthetic. Used since ancient times due to its appreciated colours, resistance and processing ease, it is still found today in historic city centres of medieval origin. A sandstone comprising grains of sand reinterpreted in a slab created from raw materials of variable grain size, combined to create the same material effect. - Porfido Marrone: More than a stone, it is a real rock. A natural element that has its roots in antiquity, a timeless product and, thus, one that is ever current. From the magmatic rock, fruit of volcanic power, the slab reproduces rather than imitates the very same tones and veining thanks to the technological innovation that is In-Side. Ideal for outdoor flooring as well as in the classic applications of natural stone, the large size facilitates installation in large-scale spaces. Finishes: Naturale, Fiammato.
