GRASS is expanding its commitment to the Italian furniture market by establishing its own subsidiary in Pordenone. As from July, existing and new customers will be able to order directly in Italy from the comprehensive portfolio of top-quality movement systems developed and manufactured by Grass.

The new subsidiary in Pordenone is headed by two experienced managers: Giuseppe Paccagnella, up to now general manager of Duepi Srl, and Marco Müller, who has been responsible for the sales activities of Grass in Italy for several years. For Grass, this represents the continuation of its international expansion in promising markets.

In recent years, Grass has been able to win many new customers and celebrate successes in Italy. A major highlight was the brand cooperation with Italian kitchen manufacturer Stosa Cucine –a first for the entire international kitchen furniture industry. “Italy is showing very positive development for us in spite of the difficult economic climate", says Marco Müller, Director of Grass Italia.

For the company’s top management at the headquarters in Austria, setting up a subsidiary was also the logical consequence of the highly promising business activities in Italy. “Italy is one of the most important furniture markets worldwide. Particularly in the current challenging market situation, it was essential for Grass to continue the momentum generated over the past few years with our own team", says Chairman of the Board Ronald Weber.

Close to the customer
The new subsidiary is based in the industrial zone of Pordenone. This location puts it just a five-minute drive away from the site of SICAM, Italy’s leading trade fair for suppliers to the furniture industry, and within easy reach of around 60% of the Italian furniture industry. “We are now in a position to provide a faster and more flexible response to customer wishes. Direct dialogue enables us to jointly develop solutions to address the Italian furniture trends of tomorrow", explains Marco Müller.

The other member of the management team is Giuseppe Paccagnella, who has been working for Grass in Italy for 25 years. “With this move, we are giving the market a clear signal that we have always believed in the potential of the Italian market and remain firmly convinced of future growth. We are now ready to respond as soon as the market regains buoyancy", said General Manager of Grass Italia.
