The Cosentino Group presents the 11th edition of the international Cosentino Design Challenge. Once again this year, the initiative promotes and encourages creativity and talent among students of design and architectures from around the world.
Thanks to ever increasing recognition around the world and progressive growth in participation, Cosentino Design Challenge has now become consolidated as a great challenge, based on research and innovation, for future architecture and design professionals.
The Cosentino Design Challenge consists of two unique categories: Architecture and Design. In this 11th edition, the Architecture category asks students to reflect on “Cosentino and travel”, while in the Design category, the topic is based on “Cosentino and technology”. In both categories, students are at total liberty to develop their ideas with a single requirement, that the final project includes at least one Cosentino product.
The submission period for final project designs opens in October 2016 and closes on 7 June 2017. All projects must be submitted exclusively in digital format via the competition website. Throughout this time, Cosentino Group can be contacted by students at idea@cosentinodesignchallenge.org, to clear up any queries, Cosentino Centers and Cosentino City showrooms all around the world will be open to any student to visit and discover the company’s wide range of products.
After the jury chooses the winners in June 2017, the winning students and their projects will be announced publicly worldwide. The prestigious jury will be made up of figures of recognised prestige in the world of architecture and design. Three first prizes will be awarded for each category, of 1,000€ each, plus three accesits.
The official presentation took place this morning at the Madrid Technical School of Architecture (ETSAM) for dozens of students, tutors, architects, designers and the media. This event was also the prize giving ceremony for the winners of the previous edition, whose projects will be on display for a week at ETSAM and will then travel to all the other partner schools and universities. To complete the day’s events, the architect Josean Ruiz Esquiroz delighted the guests with a sublime exhibition on La [R]evolución de lo Ordinario.
