Vauth-Sagel takes over Hetal-Werke

The owner-managed family business Vauth-Sagel has taken over Hetal-Werke Franz Hettich GmbH & Co. KG, a Würth Group subsidiary, on 1 August 2017.

06.09.2017 Vauth-Sagel has been an internationally successful trade and industry partner in both of these industry sectors as well as others for many decades, and this takeover is a well-matched addition to its product portfolio. At two sites in Alpirsbach and Betzweiler, the medium-sized Baden-Württemberg-based enterprise, which has around 50 employees, manufactures system components for the kitchen furniture and automotive industry.

At four sites in eastern Westphalia and northern Hesse, the owner-managed family business develops, manufactures and sells more than 85 million quality products Made in Germany every year. The company focuses extensively on the furniture and automotive industries; the takeover of Hetal-Werke is therefore a sensible addition to its product portfolio, which includes corner unit and cabinet hanging systems for kitchens (furniture area) and car seat sub-assemblies (automotive area).

The takeover of Hetal-Werke is a strategic addition to our product range. For our area of expertise corner unit systems, we have acquired product solutions we were not able to offer before. And in the automotive sector, we are adding yet another growth area to our extensive expertise, says CEO Claus Sagel. We will be offering our new as well as our existing customers an even more comprehensive high quality product range, which we will supply with our usual reliability. Vauth-Sagel Group took over Hetal-Werke Franz Hettich GmbH & Co. KG from the Würth Group on 1 August 2017, as planned. Claus Sagel is the new CEO; Hetal’s former CEO André Scheidt has already left the company. Hetal-Werke’s main site is located in Alpirsbach; a second production site is located nearby in Betzweiler. The company currently employs around 50 staff at these two sites. The takeover extends to the entire business, i.e. the employees, both plants including all equipment and all associated patent and name rights.

Hetal-Werke joined the Würth Group, which also owns the Austrian company Grass, manufacturers of movement systems for the furniture industry, in 2007. In the past few years, the Hetal-Werke production area Drop Down Flap Fittings had already been transferred to Grass; since then, the Kinvaro product family, for example, is manufactured at the German Grass site in Reinheim.
